OBIT LORAIN MAN DIES AFTER ICY PLUNGE Peter Reiter, 36, of this city, son of Mrs. George Reiter, of 910 West 22nd St. met death in a sad and spectacular manner yesterday afternoon. Death came at a Toledo Hospital where the victim was removed after being rescued from the waters of the Maumee River at Toledo. Reiter was employed on a tug which is breaking the ice in the Maumee River. Meagre information obtained so far indicates that Reiter slipped and fell overboard, sinking in the water and ice of the tiver. After putting up a terrific battle for some time, in an effort to keep from drowning and from being crushed by the ice, Reiter was rescued by friends. The struggle proved too much for his strength, however, and he died shortly after being taken to the hospital. The body will be brought to the home in this city this afternoon. C. Reichlin, of the local firm of Reichlin, Reidy and Scanlan, was called to Toledo to take cahrge of the body.
