Per John Stack family tree by Mary Lou Bregitzer: Joseph W. Stack Sr. wasborn in England in March 1865. He came to the United States with hisfamily between 1866-1870/ and grew up in Youngstown, OH. He wasnaturalized in probate court, Mahoning County on October 22, 1896; heworked at Republic Steel as a heater along with his father and brothers.A thorough search was made of the English birth index system at theFamily History Library in Salt Lake City UT but no birth record was foundfor either Patrick or Joseph. He was introduced to Honora (always knownas Nora) by her cousin Mary Leddy.

Honora ' Nora' M. Cashman was born in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan,Wales on November 18, 1868; was baptized at Sr. Illtyd Church on December5, 1868. According to the 1900 Ohio Census, she immigrated in 1871 (age3). She is the daughter of Jeremiah Cashman and Johanna O'Hearn. Hermother died in childbirth on August 8, 1?870, age 36. Father Jeremiah andother children were found in the Wales census in 1871, but not Nora. Norecords of her were found until her marriage.

They first resided at 415 Iron Street inYoungstown and then bought a home at 1214 South Avenue, right around thecorner from the Collins home on Williamson. The house was taken down inthe late 80s to make room for a church hall. They had 7 children andmoved to Cleveland in 1902 to 1915 Seager, in Newburgh.

Joe died (age 38) of carbolic acid poisoning on September 22, 1903 and isburied in Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland (no grave stone). Nora was atalented dressmaker--could copy anything without a pattern--and managedto raise her children alone.
