Shared note | There is an Arthur Murphy, a machinist, living at 7411 Claasen Avenue SE, Cleveland, OH, in 1908-1910. There is an Arthur J. Murphy, a clerk, living at 7411 Claasen Avenue SE, Cleveland, OH, in 1908-1909. The 1900 census above suggests that the Arthur is one and the same. (Dennis Murphy suggests that it took a long time for publishers of city directories to gather data about individuals, especially if they change jobs within a year.) Of the two Arthur J. Murphys in Cleveland in about 1910-1920 - in the Cleveland city directory. One was a machinist at an automoble company, per the 1910 census printout from the microfiche - that's Ultan's son. he was living at 1527 East 80th Place. Flash forward to the 1920 census, and there is an Arthur J. Murphy and a Mabel living at 1527 East 80th Place near Wade Park Avenue - that census still says he's a repairhand at an auto shop. The 1920 Cleveland City Directory says that he is vice president of an Auto Repair Co. Arthur and Agnes were living with step-mom Margaret and Ultan at 7411 Claasen Avenue in that 1910 census. (That last census citation is from 1910 - sheet 2, Enumeration District 278 of Ward 18, Cleveland.)
