Shared note | GEORGE H KNOTTS CUMBERLAND -- George H. Knotts, 89, of Pennsylvania Ave., Cumberland, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in Memorial Hospital. Born April 11, 1912, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Stephen and Lilly (Rice) Knotts. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years M. Arline Knotts on June 2, 2001 and a son George Thomas Knotts. Mr. Knotts was a member of the New Covenant United Methodist Church, he had 25 years of services with the Celanese Corporation and retired from Potomac Farms. He was a member of Fort Hill Gun and Rifle Club.. He was a Past Master and Treasurer of the Potomac Masonic Lodge 100 A.F. and A.M. Mr. Knotts served as a Grand Inspector for the Grand Masonic Lodge of Maryland for several years and also served as Deputy Grand Lector of the Grand Masonic Lodge for 16 years, as an honorary member of the Orh Masonic Lodge 131 A.F. and A.M. , East Gate Masonic Lodge 216 A.F. and A.M., Fort Cumberland Masonic Lodge 211 A.F. and A.M., and the Kemp Masonic Lodge 154 A.F. and A.M. He was also a former member of the York Rite Bodies and a former member of the Ali Ghan Shrine. Surviving are two grandchildren, George E. Knotts and wife Michele of Ellerslie and Regina A. Miller and husband J. Shawn of Frostburg; two great-grandchildren, George Lucas Knotts and Kristin Michele Knotts; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hebb and husband Charles of Corriganville. Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary. 1302 National Highway, LaVale on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic Services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. by Potomac Lodge 100 A.F. and A.M. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. |
